Professor Nessrin Taha

Dr Taha is a professor in endodontics and coordinator in the postgraduate endodontic program at JUST, and maintains a part time private practice limited to Endodontics at JUST. She attained her BDS form JUST. Then perused her postgraduate studies at the University of Melbourne Australia, where she obtained a Graduate Diploma in Endodontics, a Clinical Doctorate in Endodontics and a PhD. She is a Member of the Royal College of Ireland, a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in general dentistry and a fellow in the special field of Endodontics.
 
She is former vice dean, director of the dental teaching clinics, director of the postgraduate clinics, and head of department of conservative dentistry at JUST. She is also member and former chair of the scientific committee of the Jordanian Board of Endodontics, and a member of the research committee of the Asia Pacific Endodontic Confederation (APEC).
 
She Published 45 research papers and clinical trials, her publication received the best clinical research paper honorary mention in the JOE 2024 awards, and top cited article in the IEJ in 2023. She delivered 35 invited lectures nationally and internationally. Invited speaker on VPT, dental trauma and RET by the AAE, ESE, IADR, IFEA and IAPD. She serves as a reviewer for 15 international journals, member of the advisory board of Journal of Endodontics, editorial board of the international Endodontic Journal, Saudi Endodontic Journal and BMC oral health. Coauthored 2 book chapters on vital pulp therapy in (Principles and Practice in Endodontics 7th edition By Mahmoud Torabinejad) and Biodentine Book by Imad about. Received several international awards including Sutherland prize from the Royal Australasian College, and Victorian Women Dentists award.

Dr. Mustafa Gündoğar, is a graduate of Marmara University, Faculty of Dentistry where he received his DDS degree in 2005. He attended Endodontics Program of Graduate Study offered by Institute of Health Sciences at Marmara University and graduated with PhD degree at Endodontics in 2011. He is currently working in the Department of Endodontics, Faculty of Dentistry at Medipol University, İstanbul, Turkey as an associated professor since 2020.
 

Dr. Gündoğar’s areas of interests are; nickel titanium file’s kinematic properties and latest trends in endodontic irrigation. Dr Gündoğar has been been working at the Regenerative and Restorative Medicine Research Center (REMER) since 2020 and mainly focuses on artifical intelligence, regenerative endodontics and laser technology at endodontics.

 
Dr Mustafa Gündoğar is a renowed speaker and frequently invited to major national and international conferences in Turkey. Dr Gündoğar has published more than 50 original research articles in national and international peer-reviewed and indexed journals. Dr. Gündoğar is working as a reviewer for many indexed international journals. He has attended many national and international congresses, symposium, courses and conferences.
Dr. Gündoğar is an active member of the Turkish Dental Association (TDB), Turkish Endodontic Society (TED), European Society of Endodontology (ESE).

Associate Professor Victoria Yu

Victoria Yu is tenured Associate Professor of Endodontics at the National University of Singapore (NUS), Senior Consultant at National University Healthcare System (NUHS), and a registered Specialist in Endodontics at the Ministry of Health Singapore. She received her Bachelor of Dental Surgery and PhD from NUS and the Master of Science in Endodontics (Distinction) from the University of London, UK. She worked in private practice restricted to Endodontics for over 10 years before returning to pursue a full-time academic career.
 
Victoria is the Programme Director of the Master of Dental Surgery Endodontics Residency in NUS, training more than 40 residents in the clinics and in research. She served 2 terms as the NUS Faculty of Dentistry Vice Dean for Graduate Studies, and in university student life as Resident Fellow and Domestic Bursar at the NUS King Edward VII Hall. Victoria chairs the Ministry of Health Workgroup to implement Pulpotomy in the Singapore population.
 
As a clinician scientist in ORCHIDS (Oral Care, Health Innovations and Designs Singapore), a team comprising basic and clinician scientists working together to develop new concepts and technologies for clinical applications, Victoria’s primary areas of research include vital pulp treatment and quality of life and cost effectiveness issues in persistent endodontic lesions, cracked teeth, periodontal-endodontic conditions and restoration of compromised teeth. Key publications are the long-term pulpal and restorative outcomes of pulpotomy in mature permanent teeth, incidence and impact of painful exacerbations in a cohort with post-treatment persistent endodontic lesions and long-term success and survival of endodontic microsurgery.

Professor Henry (Hal) Duncan

Received his dental degree from the University of Glasgow and his 4-year endodontic speciality training in Guy’s Hospital, King’s College London. For ten years, he worked part-time in specialist referral endodontic practice. He completed his PhD in the University of Birmingham on the subject of ‘Epigenetic approaches to the role of Histone Deacetylase Inhibitors (HDACi) in promoting dentine-pulp reparative mechanisms’. As an Academic Professor and Consultant in Endodontics, he has led endodontic teaching, service delivery and research in Dublin Dental University Hospital (DDUH) for the last 15 years.

He has published over 160 international peer-reviewed scientific articles, 60 research abstracts, 18 book chapters as well as editing 3 textbooks. He was the primary author of the European Society of Endodontology (ESE) position statement on ‘Management of deep caries and the exposed pulp’ and is the lead of the ‘ESE S3-level Guidelines for the Treatment of Endodontic Disease’.

He is the current Editor-in-Chief of the International Endodontic Journal and the immediate past-president of the ESE. Hal has received multiple research grants as principal investigator and currently maintains a research lab and is the principal supervisor of clinical and scientifically trained PhD students and postdoctoral researchers in his research area of interest basic and translational pulp biology and endodontics.

Currently, he is the Director of Research in the DDUH and is an Ex-President of the Irish Division of the IADR, Pulp Biology and Regeneration Group of the IADR as well as the Irish Endodontic Society.

Associate Professor Bettina Basrani

Dr. Bettina Basrani is a Tenured Associate Professor and Director of the MSc Program in Endodontics at the University of Toronto, Canada. She holds a DDS degree from the University of Buenos Aires (1989), a Specialty Diploma in Endodontics, and a PhD from Maimonides University in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Dr. Basrani’s internationally recognized expertise includes over 40 scientific publications, three textbooks, and numerous textbook chapters and abstracts. Notably, she has been honored with the Louis Grossman Award by the French Society of Endodontics and received the prestigious ‘Honoris Causa’ degree from her alma mater, Maimonides University, recognizing her outstanding contributions to academia and endodontics. Her commitment to advancing the field extends to her role as a reviewer for endodontic journals and active membership in global endodontic societies.

Professor Liran Levin is a Professor of Periodontology and the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies at the College of Dentistry, the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. He is also a visiting professor at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Boston, MA.

Prof. Liran Levin was previously the Head of Periodontology at the University of Alberta, Canada, and the Head of Research at the School of Dentistry, Rambam Health Care Campus, and Faculty of Medicine – Technion IIT Haifa, Israel.

Prof. Liran Levin received his DMD degree with distinction at Tel Aviv University and completed his Post Graduate Periodontology Program at the Department of Periodontology, Rambam Health Care Campus. He also received his Periodontology Specialist Certificate from the European Federation of Periodontology as well as a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Periodontology.

Prof. Liran Levin has published more than 350 articles and book chapters in the international professional literature and is involved in research mainly in periodontology, dental implants and dental trauma. His papers received more than 15,000 scientific citations. He has been lecturing extensively both nationally and internationally in the fields of dental implants and periodontal diseases.

Prof. Levin serves as the Editor-in Chief of Dental Traumatology, an Associate Editor for the International Dental Journal, Scientific Associate Editor for the Quintessence International and as an Editorial Board Member and a manuscript reviewer for some of the leading international professional Journals in the fields of periodontology, dental implants, dental trauma and general dentistry.

Prof. Levin is the President of the Periodontal Research Group of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR). He is currently the President of the International Association for Dental Traumatology (IADT) and was chairing the 2020 IADT dental trauma guidelines committee as well as the 2024 joint IADT and ASD guidelines for prevention of traumatic dental injuries committee.

Associate Professor Adham Azim

Dr. Azim is an Associate Professor, Chair of the Endodontic Department, and the Director of the Post-Graduate Program at University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. He maintains a private practice limited to Endodontics and he is also the Founder and CEO of Endolit.

Dr. Azim earned his BDS from Cairo University, where he also did his Endodontic training. He later completed his Endodontic certificate at Columbia University, and since then, he has been a full-time Educator and a Part-Time Private Practitioner. Before Joining the University of the Pacific, he Served as the Division Head and the Director of the Endodontic Post-Graduate Program at University at Buffalo.

Dr. Azim is the recipient of the 2023 AAE Edward M. Osetek Award for outstanding educators. He is Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and has lectured all over the world. He has over 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals and several text-book chapters contributions.  He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Journal of Endodontics, and a reviewer for multiple other Endodontic Journals.

HYEON-CHEOL HENRY KIM, DDS, MS, PhD, Professor
Pusan National University School of Dentistry & University Dental Hospital.

Prof. Kim graduated from Pusan National University School of Dentistry (PNUD), where he completed the residency program specializing in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics and earned his Ph.D.

 
Following three years of service as a Navy dentist and three years in private dental practice, Dr. Kim has been serving as a full-time faculty member at PNUD since 2004. In 2008, he joined the Bio-Engineering Laboratory at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry as a visiting scholar, focusing on bone cement, biomaterials, and biomechanics.
 
Dr. Kim has held significant leadership roles at PNUD, including serving as Vice Dean from 2015 to 2019 and as Dean from 2019 to 2021. Since October 2023, he has been the President of PNU Dental Hospital.
 
With a prolific research portfolio, Dr. Kim has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles in leading international journals, including the Journal of Endodontics, International Endodontic Journal, Australian Endodontic Journal, materials (MDPI), and Restorative Dentistry & Endodontics.
 
Dr. Kim is an active member of the international endodontic community, currently serving as Secretary of the International Federation of Endodontic Associations (IFEA) and Immediate Past President of the Asian Pacific Endodontic Confederation (APEC).
 
He is also a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for the Journal of Endodontics and serves on the Editorial Boards of Biomaterial Investigations in Dentistry (BIiD), the European Endodontic Journal, Restorative Dentistry & Endodontics, and the Journal of Korean Dental Science.

Professor Anibal Diogenes

Professor Anibal Diogenes

Dr. Anibal Diogenes received his dental degree from UFPE in Brazil, his M.S. in Molecular Biology from the University of Nebraska, and his Ph.D. in Pharmacology and his Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

Dr. Diogenes is the Chair of the Department of Endodontics at the University of Texas Health at San Antonio, and a Director of the American Board of Endodontics. His areas of research include inflammation, pain, and regenerative endodontics.  

He has received the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) Distinguished Research Award, the AAE Osetek Award, and the Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation Professorship Award. Dr. Diogenes maintains a clinical practice limited to Endodontics in San Antonio, Texas.

Professor Sondos Albadri

Professor Sondos Albadri

Professor Sondos Albadri is a Professor and Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry, and Vice Dean for Research and Postgraduate Studies at the University of Liverpool School of Dentistry. She also serves as the Junior Vice Dean for the Faculty of Dental Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons of England.
 
A passionate advocate for improving clinical outcomes, she leads the Oral Health research group, focusing on enhancing patient care, reducing health inequalities, and improving oral health in vulnerable populations. Her research interests include dental trauma and oral health outcomes in children with complex needs. Sondos is the Oral Health theme lead for the C-Gull (Children Growing Up in Liverpool) birth cohort study and plays a pivotal role in multiple clinical trials.
 
Sondos has served as President of the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry (2021/2022) and chairs the Cheshire and Merseyside Paediatric Dentistry Managed Clinical Network. She is the Northwest specialty lead for the NIHR Regional Research Delivery Network. Internationally, she is a member of the European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry’s education committee and represents the UK as councillor.
 
As a clinician, she works at Liverpool University Dental Hospital and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, where she established a multidisciplinary clinic for children with complex medical and dental needs and developed a transitional care pathway for young patients with dental trauma. Sondos has authored numerous publications, contributed to textbooks, and lectures internationally, sharing her expertise with global audiences.
